Our Story

Machipongo Trading Company began in April of 2008 as an outlet for Kristin and Jamie Willis' Eastern Shore Coastal Roasting Company's fresh-roasted gourmet coffees & hand-blended teas. Located in an old Texaco station, right on Highway 13 in Machipongo, they got to work on refurbishing the empty building & filling it with vivid color and a positive spirit that reflected the nature of its purpose- to serve the locals & travelers of the Eastern Shore with good wholesome food and beverages and a great atmosphere.

 

In January 2011, the Willis family sold the Trading Company to Dr. Carol Sabo. Over the following years we have strived to continue their legacy of excellent service and products for both our local customers and newcomers from all over! Voted ESVA's 2020 Local Choice, we serve sandwiches, wraps, salads, ice cream, smoothies, freshly baked goods, and, of course, Eastern Shore Coastal Roasting Co. coffee.

 

We believe in great relationships -- both with our customers & our product vendors. Many of our products come from other small businesses that are making a difference in their own communities, or even right here on the Shore! We stock our shelves with curated snacks and beverages from our favorite local vendors, not to mention our collection of local art.
